Frequently Asked Questions
By definition, a tattoo or micro pigmentation is permanent marks or designs made on the skin by a process of ingraining an indelible pigment into the dermis.
Similarly, Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication involves the application of pigments; however the process, custom pigments, application process, mapping, client management, and technician training is unique.
GLI works in the Hair Restoration industry and understands the look, framing, and psychology of those who suffer from MPB or thinning hair.
Doctors and clients understand Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication is the only process we do at GLI. We are the creators and inventors of CTHR™. We aren’t a tattoo shop or applying permanent make up. With the hundreds of clients we have worked with, we understand all the needs and expectations you have when dealing with MPB or thinning hair. In the end the final results are significantly different.

May I see people who have had the CTHR™ process done?
Of course you can! Initially you are able to look at all the before and after photos, videos, and read about the process online. No photos or videos have never been enhanced in any way. We at GLI know that SEEING IS BELIEVING and the only way to be 100% sure that it looks natural is to see the end result with your own eyes. That is why GLI suggests an in-office consultation to see people who have had the CTHR™ process completed.
For those that come in for your FREE consultation, we provide results first hand. We even ask that you bring a magnifying glass to see the results as close as possible, and if you don’t have one we supply one for you.

Are you BBB (Better Business Bureau) Accredited?
Yes GLI is BBB accredited. At GLI we believe you only have 1 chance to have the CTHR™ process done correctly. To-date, all of our clients have achieved the look they were promised without a single complaint.
The BBB Code of Business Practices represents sound advertising, selling and customer service practices that enhance customer trust and confidence in business. The Code is built on the BBB Standards for Trust, eight principles that summarize important elements of creating and maintaining trust in business.

I have scars from hair transplants, how much coverage or elimination of the scar can I achieve?
You can expect 100% coverage, although each scar is different, GLI knows you will achieve 60% to 100% coverage on your 1st application. Approximately 40% of our clients will come back (at no cost for the CTHR™ enhancement) for a second application to complete full scar coverage.
The exposed tracks in the scalp virtually disappear. The results are amazing both physically and emotionally. Our clients who have had past scarring from hair replacement surgery or injury have benefited greatly from Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication. Please see examples on THE LOOK tab. We also have an entire page dedicated to this topic. Please see our page about Hair Transplant Scars.
Good Look Ink’s clients have the freedom to choose any hairstyle they desire. If you desire, or want to keep your hair short, your scars will now be covered and blend in with your natural hair. If a longer style is what you want, the CTHR™ process enhances the fullness (see examples on the Look Page) to give you the look that you have been searching for all this time.

What type of application is used?
The imprint of a single hair follicle isn’t applied as deeply as a tattoo or as shallow as micro-pigmentation. GLI uses GLI’s CTHR™ formulated pigments and application process. The Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication process is done one impression at a time. Good Look Ink’s patent-pending specialized needles have been designed to replicate clusters of asymmetrical hair follicles tens of thousands of times. See our Process Page to learn more.

If I'm from out of town, may I talk with people who have had the CTHR™ process done?
Yes, all of our consultants that work at GLI have had the CTHR™ process done completely. You can schedule a consultation with one of our GLI consultants by calling 952-378-1778 between 9am and 9pm Untied States central time.

What kind of pigmentation are you using?
GLI uses the highest quality mineral based, proprietary blended and formulated pigment for the custom application of CTHR only. GLI’s pigments are blended to match your own personal hair follicle color the day of your CTHR™ process.

How long will the Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication process take?
The initial process depending on need, size of your head and current hair loss, will take between 1 to 8 hours. A certified and experienced GLI technician will begin the process by mapping the balding pattern by zone, determining appropriate density according to these regions, and then add hundreds, or tens of thousands of impressions necessary to giving you the density needed for a full looking head of hair. Should you need or want a second follow-up density enhancement, the process will take no longer than 2 hours.

Does the Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication method help stimulate new hair growth?
Although our process is not designed to grow hair a few clients have reported noticing new hair growth. We believe this may be due to the stimulation to the scalp during the Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication process, similar to the effects of acupuncture. Another possibility is the illusion that the native hairs appear more dense after CTHR. Even fine and thin hairs are now accentuated due to the advent of pigment as a new foundation.

I have thinning hair, how will it help me?
Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication will camouflage the contrast between hairs and scalp giving the appearance of fuller density while lessening the affects that water and light have in exposing thin hair. (See examples on THE GALLERY page)

What will it cost?
Each client is assessed as an individual (see cost page). Achieving the full coverage that you desire will determine your cost. Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication is affordable to almost anyone. The cost can range from $500 to $4900. Please submit pictures with your quote request, as this will help determine your needs today and in the future. Those who are able to visit a GLI office, its best to receive a FREE consultation to determine the cost.

Will I feel pain during the process?
Past clients have told us that, after the first 30 minutes they get used to the feeling. To-date, we have never had anyone leave because they felt discomfort. Each client is different, but CTHR™ is 100% tolerable. We have had hundreds of people of all ages and genders that have had the CTHR™ process. In some cases it will feel like a deep massage, other people have fallen asleep; in other cases it may feel slightly uncomfortable.

Will Insurance pay for it?
In most cases no. If you have had previous treatment from another source that was covered by insurance, such as burns or cuts, you may want to consult with your insurance agent about possible coverage.

Is anyone not a candidate for the CTHR™ (Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication) process?
Those people who have skin disorders such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, or a history of skin cancer may not be a good candidate. GLI goes through a complete health history before any process can be approved.

What's the Good Look Ink Guarantee?
After completion of the process we are proud to offer up to a one year satisfaction guarantee on further density enhancements you may desire.
