Person You Most Admire
My parents. Many lessons learned as they raised me, which I still apply daily. Professionally: Sharon Brewer (my mentor).
Why You Do What You Do
Because life is about living with others and working together to better each other’s lives. Serving others to be better off is most rewarding. Providing them with something that will enhance their life fulfills that mission—and that inspires me.
Moment When You Overcame a Fear
I overcame my fear of public speaking when I was in high school and had to address the school as I ran for student body. I sat quietly for a few minutes, praying to God and asking that He bless me with the wisdom to say my speech confidently and respond intelligently to questions. Later, I was voted vice president of our student body. I find that prayer and meditation strongly play a part in allowing me to confidently manage all forms of fear.
Why You Think Having Confidence Is Important
Because it allows you to think more clearly during challenging moments. Confidence is what tells you that you'll succeed even when others don't believe. Confidence allows you to maintain your optimism, because we're always bombarded with negativity or lack of belief in us by others. It gives you strength in helping others, because you have more trust in yourself. Confidence is the engine that makes one’s motor run and push through this incredible game of life. When you are confident, you shine like a light, and positive experiences are the eventual results. If not, it allows you to get back up, learn and go again until you get the results you strive for.
